Safety Details & Other Information
All paddlers must be 7 years of age or older.
Children between 2 1/2 years to 7 years of age can accompany an adult in a tandem Kayak. Contact us to book a tandem.
Also, note that at this time, we do not provide guided tours. What we provide: Kayaks with all related equipment delivered and picked up at the launch site.
We provide all safety equipment including:
- A Personal Floating Device (PFD) Youth max chest size 28"/Adult max chest size 50"/Large max chest size 56". It's your responsibility to ensure that you have with the correct size. PFD are to be worn at all times on the water.
- Buoyant heaving line at least 15 metres in length.
- Flashlight (if required)
- Sound-signaling device
- Bail bucket
What to bring
- Drinking water & snacks
- Sun-screen
- Hat & sunglasses
- Water shoes
Please note that depending on the waves, weather and/or type of Kayak you use, you may get wet.
Alcohol
No one shall consume alcohol or use any drugs before or while kayaking.
Weather Conditions
If the weather conditions are not suitable your booking will be re-schedule.
Cancellation - 24 hour notice
Cancellations from the kayaker's part received in writting 48 hours in advance of your reservation time will be refunded minus booking fees. All cancellations shall be by email sent to riverviewkayak@gmail.com .
Damage and unreturned Kayaks & Equipment
Kayaks along with all equipment (PFD, paddle, rope, bucket, light) shall be returned at the same drop off location. If not returned, or if damaged beyond normal wear and tear, such equipment and kayak will be charged replacement cost on the kayaker’s credit card or collected by a 3rd party (collection agency) and any cost incurred; legal fees and/or collections fees, will be added to the total collection charge.
